For what reasons have teachers booked Justdifferent workshops?
There are many reasons why JustDifferent have been asked to provide workshops to schools.
Here are just a few of them:
- to help meet the National Curriculum
- to meet objectives of Equality Duty
- to meet objectives of Every Child Matters
- for a new learning experience
- because disabled children were joining the school
- because there was a disabled child in the school
- teachers needed some training on working with disabled people
- interesting and though provoking
- to provide inspiration to pupils about their goal and potential achievements
- for an honest approach to disability from a disabled person
- an opportunity for children to meet someone face to face with a disability and ask the questions they have always wanted to ask
- because it would be a fun way of learning
- humanised the issues of disability
- suitable for all ages
- to reduce bullying in the school playground
- to encourage children who had siblings who were disabled to be accepted in the class room.
